  • Geoff Linnell

    Chair

    Geoff is a respected Non-Executive Chair and Director who gained extensive international Board capabilities working with both SMEs and blue-chip organisations across multiple sectors.

    With 40 years’ experience helping companies deliver more business value, he advises a small portfolio of quality companies, who need to take advantage of digital innovations that significantly improve service levels and/or optimise the back-office functions.

    Proud to deliver rapid development of a clear strategy with pragmatic implementation, Geoff has a strong governance and risk management background with consensus stakeholder management to win hearts and minds.

    Current positions include Trustee of Family Fund, Board Member of Incommunities Group Limited and Chair of the Standards Committee for Greater Manchester Combined Authority.

    Geoff graduated from University of Birmingham, a former international basketball player and keen golfer. Married with one daughter, he enjoys travel and fine dining.

  • David Osborne

    Managing Director

    We aim to build a company committed to delivering high quality services to our customers both now and into the future.

    David is an experienced social care professional with significant capabilities, having worked in and managed care services for over 30 years across a variety of settings with multiple client groups.
    Originating from Warrington, David is passionate about developing and delivering high quality care services. David started as an engineering apprentice at 19 and left to pursue a career in social care gaining professional qualification at the University of Salford in 2001.

    This commitment and resolve culminated in the leadership to spin out and create Catalyst Choices, manage the transition from local authority control and its evolving journey.

    David believes in empowerment, engagement and equality for users of the care system and that individuals should be at the centre of co-creating the support that is right for them.

    An advocate of continued personal development and self–management, David is an accredited NLP and Reiki practitioner.

    David is a keen rugby league fan and Warrington Wolves season ticketholder is currently working towards Piano Grade 7. He has 1 daughter a recent English Literature graduate currently living in London and pursuing her dreams.

  • Chris Ball

    Director of Operations

    It's a privilege to serve on the board of a company that has its staff and customers at its heart .

    Chris is a founding Director of Catalyst Choices leading the company spin out from Warrington Borough Council in 2015 and implementing the successful transition of over 300 staff to deliver a broad profile of high quality adult social care services in a new independent organisation.

    Chris has over 35 years of experience working in the Social Care Sector, starting his social care career as a community visitor to older and disabled residents in the Whiston area of Merseyside.

    Chris worked for Warrington Borough Council since 1997, managing day services for adults with learning and physical disabilities, leading a modernisation programme to develop a more person-centred and community based service and operational management of service restructure, change projects and cost-saving initiatives.

    Chris has a passion for workforce development with a commitment to providing staff teams with excellent quality training and development opportunities, he is also an advocate for the recruitment and employment of apprentices within the business functions.

    In his local community, Chris is a Parish Councillor, participates in local crown green bowls and enjoys country walks with his Border Collie. He is a lifelong Everton supporter and is interested in literature, music, theatre, and the arts.

    Staff Director

    I am delighted to be nominated as the staff director. As a staff owned company we are committed to provide quality services for the communities we serve.

    Margaret has worked in Warrington since 2007 – initially supporting adults with learning disabilities, Margaret now works as a Community Care Worker in Shared Lives. Prior to working in Health and

    Social Care, Margaret worked in business development in the private and charitable sectors. Margaret has one daughter and enjoys walking, travel, the theatre, community events, cooking and socialising with family and friends.

    I am delighted to be nominated as the staff director. As a staff owned company we are committed to provide quality services for the communities we serve.

  • Councillor Pat Wright

    Independent Director

    We have good arrangements in place to help strengthen and build new relationships going forward

    Councillor Pat Wright is the Executive Member for Adult Social Care & Strategic Health. Pat is also the Local Borough Councillor for Bewsey and Whitecross Ward. Pat worked for Warrington Borough Council from 1975 until October 1986 as Senior Accounts Clerk, transferring over to Warrington Borough Transport due to bus deregulation as Office Manager.

    Pat is a Partner Governor on Warrington and Halton Hospital Trust Board and a Partner Governor of the 5 Boroughs Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. She is also a member of the Health and Wellbeing Board and a member of the Board of Warrington Citizens Advice Bureau. Away from her busy duties Pat likes walking and the countryside.

    Independent Director (Finance specialist)

    I'm delighted to join the Board of Catalyst Choices

    Grenville is an experienced, commercially minded finance, business and governance professional, and senior leader with a wealth of board level and change experience as an executive, a NED/trustee and business consultant gained across the public, charities/social enterprises and housing sectors.

    Grenville has held Finance Director positions in health, a social enterprise and a private care sector spin-out organisation, and has extensive knowledge and experience of the health, social care, housing, and well-being agendas, and in supporting charities, emergent social enterprises and public-sector spin-outs.

    Current positions include Vice Chair and lay member for governance at Central Manchester CCG; Lay member for finance at North Manchester CCG; Board member and Chair of Audit Committee at Equity Housing based in Stockport with stock in and outside of Greater Manchester; Trustee and Finance Chair at Borough Care, Treasurer of Greater Manchester Centre for Voluntary Organisation; and Chair of Audit Committee at Dean Trust, a multi- academy with schools in Trafford, Manchester and Knowsley.

    Grenville is married with a daughter, and has a keen interest in Motorsport, 60s and 70s rock music, photography and visiting national trust properties

  • Kate Griffiths

    Business Development Director

    Kate has responsibility to grow the Catalyst Choices brand and business ensuring the value Catalyst Choices offers to the social care market accurately represents the needs of clients, engages with the wider community and aligns with the capabilities of a broad service portfolio.

    The diversity of the role means that not only does one need to strongly represent the brand, but also be able to rapidly understand and engage with a wide variety of stakeholder organisations.

    With over 20 years’ experience, she began her career as a Registered General Nurse before moving into the commercial sector working in Business Development for Phoenix Healthcare, 3M Healthcare, Care Shop and Cogent developing a broad range of expertise in Healthcare, Education and Life Science industry business growth and transformation.

    Kate is passionate about a person – centred approach delivering quality and customer focused adult social care and outside of Catalyst Choices has a keen interest in National Heritage, walking and kayaking.

  • Melanie Jackson

    Associate Director – Finance

    Melanie joined Catalyst Choices as Finance Manager in April 2016, her initial remit to set up a new accounts processing system to provide an in-house finance function. Further to the delivery of this project Melanie set up a new project accounting and data capture system for Catalyst Choices to process the monthly payroll in-house and manages the implementation of a new HR system.

    Melanie is now an Associate Director and brings a wealth of experience with her, having started in Accounts some 38 years ago where she worked for Shell UK for 16 years, working her way up to Supervisor level. She also worked for Warrington Borough Council in a local school as a Bursar for 9 years while her children were young. Since then Melanie has worked as a Management Accountant and left her last role as Head of Group Accounts and Payroll where she worked for some 8 years.

    Melanie is married with 2 children and enjoys nothing more than spending time with them. She is also a keen team tennis player, takes part in Charity fun runs, enjoys keeping fit and enjoys cooking and socialising with friends.
